“I am not guilty and I do not feel guilty. This will be proved. God and justice will prevail,” Kovacevic told the Sarajevo court on Monday.
The indictment charges Kovacevic with taking part in the persecution of Bosniak civilians, including detention, killings, rape and the destruction of personal property.
The Bosnian prosecution alleges that Kovacevic killed a civilian in the village of Dobrun near Visegrad and raped two women.
