As the trial for Trusina crimes continues, the Defence of Nihad Bojadzic, one of the indictees, includes about 50 documents related to the lawfulness of the State Prosecution’s investigation as material evidence in the case file.

The Defence said that Mato Zeko, a then employee with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, was engaged in the investigation into the crimes in Trusina, Konjic municipality, where, according to the charges, 18 civilians and four members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, who had previously surrendered, were killed on April 16, 1993.

The Defence considers that, in that way Zeko influenced the course of the investigation, making it unlawful.

The Defence said that the Constitutional Court of BiH had previously ordered the Trial Chamber to determine the lawfulness of the investigation.

Bojadzic, former Deputy Commander of “Zulfikar” Squad with the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, is on trial, along with Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin and Nedzad Hodzic, former members of the “Zulfikar” Squad, and Senad Hakalovic, former member of “Neretvica” Brigade of ABiH, for crimes committed in Trusina village.

The Defence is due to continue presenting its material evidence on September 1.
