The Defence said that the transcripts did not refer to the counts requested by the Defence. Those counts were the same in the cases against Krsmanovic and Milan and Sredoje Lukic, who were sentenced by the Hague Tribunal in December 2012 to life imprisonment and 27 years in prison respectively for crimes committed in Visegrad.

The Defence said that those parts of transcripts could acquit Krsmanovic of the charges, so the Defence hoped that the correct transcripts would be received from The Hague soon.

As per a request by the Defence, at the beginning of October last year the Court of BiH sent a letter to the Tribunal in order to be able to contact about ten persons, who had previously testified before The Hague Tribunal under protection measures.

The content of the Tribunal’s response, which arrived eight months later, was not revealed to public, because the letter was confidential.

The indictment alleges that Krsmanovic, former member of the Second Podrinje Light Infantry Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, is charged with having participated in the murders, rape, torture and other inhumane acts against Bosniak civilians.

The trial is due to continue on July 15, when a Defence witness will be examined.
