Damir Lipovac Arrested in the Netherlands

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirms that Damir Lipovac is one of the two persons who were arrested in the Netherlands on Thursday, May 8 due to crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH.

The Prosecution of BiH charges Lipovac, former member of the 103rd Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, with crimes committed against Serbs in the Derventa area in 1992.

The Prosecution of BiH filed an indictment against Lipovac, who has been on the run until now, in 2008. He is charged with having killed two persons.

Besides that, he is charged with the beating, robbing and torturing people in a humiliating way in a detention camp formed in the school building in Poljari village, Derventa municipality. The Prosecution of BiH says that Lipovac was Commander of that detention camp.

The identity of the second arrested person has not been disclosed by the Prosecution of BiH.
