The Supreme Court returned the case back to the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo for retrial. The first instance verdict was quashed due to significant violations of the criminal proceeding provisions.
In December 2012 the Cantonal Court sentenced Ceco to two years in prison for crimes against the Serb civilian population in Dobrinja neighbourhood, Sarajevo.
Ceco, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was pronounced guilty of having physically abused Serb civilians, who were digging trenches in Dobrinja on September 18, 1992, acting in collaboration with two other soldiers.
