Miodrag Kovacevic, former member of the Special Squad with the Visegrad Brigade, said that Milisavljevic was member of his Squad.

“Members of the Special Squad were not present at the square from which the convoys departed. Neither I nor my unit ever participated in escorting convoys,” Kovacevic said, adding that he thought that policemen used to escort convoys.

He explained that members of the Special Unit guarded the road taken by some of the convoys.

Besides Milisavljevic, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic with having participated in murders, forced resettlement of people, detention, torture, forced disappearances and other inhumane acts.

According to the charges, Milisavljevic and Pantelic participated in the murder of several tens of Bosniak civilians near the Paklenik pit. The indictment alleges that Milisavljevic and Pantelic, former members of reserve police forces in Visegrad, and Tasic, former member of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, committed those crimes in the period from April to June 1992.

The trial is due to continue on February 11.
