The Prosecutors’ Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina believes that former Bosnian Croat fighter Adzic abused Bosnian army prisoners of war in Zepce in 1993.

He is indicted of coming to a school in which Bosnian army members were being held, together with other Croatian Defence Council soldiers, in June 1993, and forcing injured prisoners to leave their hospital beds.

“He approached two beds where Bosnian army soldiers were receiving medication and broke the medicine. He kept abusing the prisoners for being Bosniaks, fired a shot into one of the injured men”, said the Bosnian Prosecution.

After this, the indictment reads, Adzic threatened another injured man and put a gun to his head.

“He then came to a room where two other men were held and he abused them and told them he would kill them. He also proceeded to threaten a three-year-old kid, who was visiting his mother”, said the Bosnian Prosecution.

The indictment against Adzic – who is defending himself at liberty – was first raised by the Cantonal prosecution in Zenica, but the court in that town sent the case to the State level.

The indictment was sent for confirmation to the Bosnian Court.
