Six Witnesses Appear in Vain

Trial Chamber Chairwoman Zinaida Husic said that the Eastern Sarajevo District Prosecutor informed the Court that he had other obligations, so the examination of six witnesses, who appeared in court, had to be postponed.
 
“The Prosecutor informed us of his absence late, so the Court did not have the time to inform all the Defence teams and witnesses that the hearing would be postponed,” Trial Chamber Chairwoman Husic said.
 
This case was represented by Prosecutor Hukeljic, who was appointed as prosecutor with the State Prosecution in November this year.
 
“The District Prosecution is in a specific situation now. Three prosecutors have left, but no new ones have been recruited,” Husic said.
 
According to the charges, Dragisa Cacic, Milenko Cacic and Vojo Motika, former members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, in Rogatica, killed one person and wounded a child in the vicinity of Starcici village on August 8, 1992.
 
The trial is due to continue on February 3, 2014, when the first and second indictees’ witnesses, who were due to testify today, will be examined.
