The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina orders prohibiting measures against eight persons, who are suspected of crimes against humanity in Rogatica in 1992, rejecting a Prosecution’s custody order motion.

Radomir Markovic, Mile Kusic, Dragan Bozovic, Sasa Perkovic, Radomir Gluhovic, Pero Radovic, Ilija and Milos Vukasinovic were arrested on October 17. On the following day the Court ordered prohibiting measures, including a ban on travelling, leaving their places of residence, meeting and contacting “certain persons”.

As announced by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the suspects will be randomly visited by police officers twice a day, while their personal and travel documents will be confiscated.

According to the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the suspects were members of Rogatica Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS. There is a grounded suspicion that they participated in the persecution and murders of Bosniak civilians from Vragolovi, Golubovici, Karacici, Kramer Selo and Rakitnica villages, Rogatica municipality, in September 1992.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that it would appeal the decision, rejecting its custody order motion, saying that Rogatica war crimes suspects were charged with very grave crimes that included the murder of several tens of persons.
