Milos Lakovic said that he also often saw members of “Milun’s Company”, but other units as well.

Asked by the prosecutor Dzevad Muratbegovic, whether “Milun’s Company” went by another name, the witness said he seemed to recall there had been “some eagles”, but could not recollect precisely.

Asked by the defendant whether the company caused any trouble, the witness replied that it did not.

The indictment against Kornjaca alleges that in May 1992, after the death of a member of the Blue Eagles paramilitary unit, he participated in the murder of 28 civilians imprisoned at the Hunting Lodge at Mostina. He is also charged, as former commander of Blue Eagles, with the expulsion of Bosniaks from Cajnice.

The witness added that he thought all companies which came to positions near Gorazde had their own radio connection.
“We used regular phone for communication with headquarters in town. I don’t recall having received any significant order,” said Lakovic.

An earlier request by Kornjaca for the exemption of presiding judge Darko Samardzic, it was announced, was denied.

The defendant asked the Trial Chamber to allow him to submit a new list of possible witnesses for the defence in seven days’ time. According to the current schedule, only one witness remains to be examined in court after the summer recess.

The trial is set to resume on August 21.
