On the basis of an agreement reached at the last hearing on January 9, a Defence expert witness was due to present his findings about the indictees health condition at the hearing today. However, Kornjaca complained about the fact that the list of court experts did not contain any adequate specialists.
It was recommended to me to be examined by a cardiologist. However, no cardiologists are listed here. Also, I was surprised by the fact that the list of experts does not contain any adherers to the Orthodox Church, the indictee explained.
The Trial Chamber accepted Kornjacas proposal that cardiologist Dragana Mandic prepared a report on his health condition.
She is due to present her findings and opinion in 15 days.
Defence attorney Milana Borovcanin-Bulic said that the indictee told her, right before this hearing, that he did not feel well and that he gave her a doctors report.
As said by Trial Chamber Chairman Darko Samardzic, the report says that the indictee does not feel capable of attending the hearing.
It does not say that the indictee is not capable of testifying. An expert examination is therefore needed, Samardzic explained.
The indictee addressed the Court, saying that he was receiving very strong therapy, that he was losing weight and that he did not feel well.
Milun Kornjaca, former Commander of Plavi orlovi paramilitary unit, is on trial for persecuting Bosniaks from the Cajnice area, including the murder of 26 civilians at Mostina in May 1992.
The trial is due to continue on February 13.
