Garic asked the judges to postpone his testimony, enabling him to testify in a more qualitative way.Prosecutor Katrina Gustaffson did not object to the request, but she said that, upon his arrival at The Hague, Garic significantly changed some parts of his statement given to Karadzic’s Defence. While saying that the Defence was ready for Garic’s testimony, Karadzic’s legal advisor Peter Robinson said that those changes would be incorporated in the new version of witness’ statement by Monday. Following a brief consultation with other members of the Trial Chamber, presiding judge O-Gon Kwon postponed Garic’s testimony until Monday, pointing out that The Hague Tribunal highly valued welfare.Garic is due to testify concerning the counts, charging Karadzic with terrorising civilians in Sarajevo through a long-lasting shelling and sniping campaign. Karadzic, former President of Republika Srpska, RS and supreme Commander of its Army, is charged with genocide in Srebrenica and seven other Bosnian municipalities, the persecution of Muslims and Croats throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and taking UNPROFOR members hostage in the period from 1992 to 1995.
