The Trial Chamber determined that it had not been proved, beyond reasonable doubt, that Lavrnic, former member of the 17th Kljuc Light Infantry Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, killed Ramiza Adzemovic, Fatima and Hata Risovic and wounded Ejub Cenanovic in Rejzovici hamlet, Kljuc municipality on February 10, 1993.

As said by Trial Chamber Chairman Reuf Kapic, witnesses did not specify during the presentation of evidence who told them that the indictee had committed the crime, adding that none of the witnesses saw him at the crime scene.

“For this reason the Trial Chamber has not been able to trust them,” Kapic said.

The Cantonal Prosecution in Bihac announced that it would file an appeal against the first instance verdict.

“Once we have received the verdict, we shall certainly file an appeal, because we consider that the presented evidence was of such a nature that the Court should have rendered a different ruling,” Cantonal Prosecutor Jasmin Mesic said.

Ratko Lavrnic repeated that he was not guilty.

“I did not do it. If I ever find out who did it, I shall be the first person to report it,” the indictee said, following the pronouncement of the verdict.
