According to a list of military personnel dated June 28, 1995, which was presented by Prosecutor Adnan Gulamovic, indictees Veselko and Ivo Raguz joined the armed forces in July 1992.

The document indicates that indictee Veselko Raguz left the Unit two years later, but it does not say when Ivo Raguz left it.

The Defence of indictee Veselko Raguz objected to the authenticity of the evidence, because, as pointed out by Defence attorney Predrag Radovanovic, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina had previously introduced another piece of evidence, indicating that Veselko Raguz had left the Unit on April 19, 1996.

“Therefore, those documents are contradictory, because it is obvious that one of them contains incorrect data,” Radovanovic said.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Veselko Raguz, former Commander of the Fourth Battalion with the Knez Domagoj Brigade of the HVO, and Ivo Raguz, former member of that Brigade, with having participated in crimes against civilians in Stolac and Capljina in July and August 1993.

The indictment alleges that Veselko Raguz ordered, assisted or participated in the unlawful arrest of civilians and resettlement of Bosniak women and children, while Ivo Raguz is charged with having physically abused civilians.

The next hearing is due to be held on August 20, when the presentation of material evidence will be continued.
