Najdan Mladjenovic Ordered into Custody

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina orders one-month custody for Najdan Mladjenovic, who is suspected of crimes committed in the Bratunac area in 1992.

The State Court ordered Mladjenovic into custody due to existence of fear that he might interfere with the criminal proceedings by influencing witnesses and accomplices while at liberty.

In addition to that, the custody measure was ordered due to a possibility that the suspect’s release to liberty would result in a real threat to the public order.

Mladjenovic, a former member of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, is suspected of having participated in crimes in the Glogova and Hranca villages in the Bratunac area, where several Bosniak civilians were killed on May 9, 1992.

The State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA arrested Mladjenovic on Thursday, May 9, 2012.
