Macic: Defence Completed Presentation of Evidence

Kadrija Kolic, Defence attorney of indictee Macic, included about 30 pieces of material evidence in the case file.
I am presenting a verdict passed down by The Hague Tribunal in the case of Zejnil Delalic and photographs depicting Eso Macic, said Kolic.
The Defence did not explain what it tried to prove with those pieces of material evidence.
In February 2001, The Hague Tribunal acquitted Zejnil Delalic of the charges that he committed crimes in Celebici detention camp. The Tribunal determined that, as Commander of the First Tactical Group of Bosnian forces, he did not have control over the detention camp. In the same case The Hague Tribunal sentenced Hazim Mucic to 18, Esad Landzo to 15 and Zdravko Mucic to nine years in prison.
Prosecutor Sanja Jukic objected to a report on the examination of witness Branko Sinikovic in 1993, which the Defence presented as evidence. Jukic said that she objected to that piece of evidence, because the statement was not presented to the witness, when he testified for the Prosecution on February 8, 2011.
The State Prosecution charges Macic, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, of crimes against Serb prisoners of war and civilians in Celebici detention camp and Musala sports hall, near Konjic. The indictment alleges that, in 1992 Macic participated in the murder of two Serb civilians in Celebici detention camp and the causing of severe bodily injuries to civilians and prisoners of war, who were detained in Musala.
Jukic proposed to invite nine Prosecution witnesses, who would testify in response to the Defence’s evidence, in order to discredit Defence witness Zoran Djordjic, who testified on April 5 this year, when he said that witness Dragan Djordjic did not personally see the murder of prisoner Milorad Kuljanin.
The Defence did not object to the State Prosecution’s proposal. The Trial Chamber ordered the Prosecutor to provide it with a detailed written explanation of the allegations that should be denied by the proposed witnesses.
The trial is due to continue on April 19 this year.
