Gvozden is indicted with the allegation that, together with other members of the Republika Srpska Army (VRS), he participated in the murder of six civilians, and tried to arrest one civilian of Croat ethnicity in Tomasica, the municipality of Sanski Most, in the first half of December 1992.
Acting upon the request of the Cantonal Prosecution in Bihac, judges of the High Court in Belgrade interrogated Gvozden in the role of suspect, since he lives in Belgrade.
This is the first indictment for mass crimes against civilians of Croatian ethnicity in the area of Una-Sana Canton. Along with indictee Miroslav Gvozden, suspect Mile Gvozden also participated in this crime, but he is unavailable to the state authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the warrant has been issued for him, said Jasmin Mesic, Cantonal Prosecutor in Bihac.
As Mesic said, the victims of Croat ethnicity were mostly the elderly, among whom the oldest was Draginja Salic, born in 1908.
