Marjanovic: Last Conversation with Father

Witness Bajic said that he left Babljak village and went to Zepa, just like other members of his family, but they did not live together in Zepa. Bajic said that, some time later his father Nurko said that he would return to Babljak in order to check what the situation was like.
I was in the village, when they passed by. My father said that he was going home to check what the situation was like, adding that, if everything was OK, I should come too, Bajic said, adding that this was his last conversation with his father.
Bajic testified for the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina in November 2011, when he said that his stepmother told him after the war, that indictee Marjanovic took his father and other family members to Borike, Rogatica municipality and that they were left by car, which was driven by some soldier.
Marjanovic, who was allegedly accompanied by a few other members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, is charged with having arrested married couple Bajic and their four minor children in Marina Homora village, Rogatica municipality on June 19, 1992.
The indictment alleges that the family was then taken to Borike village. Unknown VRS soldiers then allegedly took the mother and children to Veljko Vlahovic school building in Rogatica and detained them in that building, while the father was taken in an unknown direction. The father has been missing since.
As he continued testifying, witness Bajic said that, while they were in Zepa, his father once sent him to Babljak village in order to bring some food from home. He said that he saw indictee Marjanovic and a few other people standing next to his uncle’s house. As he said, all of them were armed.
I came to take some food. Zoran approached and greeted me. Zoran gave me some cigarettes, because I did not smoke in front of my father. Those men were nice to me and let me go. I went home, loaded food on a cart and took it to my father, the witness said.
Also, he recalled having been on his way to Babljak village, after having seen his father for the last time.
I saw Zoran at the same place. He did not say anything. He just waved his hand at me, as if he was telling me to run away, witness Bajic said, adding that he did not return to that place again.
