Under the unconfirmed indictment, Lazic is charged with having said, while giving a statement to State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA investigators in a case related to war crimes in Bratunac municipality, that Z. Z. committed the crimes and repeated the same statement to the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

However, during the course of court proceedings it was determined that Bosko Lazic gave a false statement, thus causing severe consequences for indictee Z.Z., who was eventually released from custody and acquitted of the charges.

The Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina stipulates that a person, who gives a false statement in a criminal proceeding, causing severe consequences for the indictee, may be sentenced to between one and ten years in prison.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
