At a press conference held after the meeting of the Structural dialogue on Justice between representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina and officials of the European Union – which took place on November 10th and 11th in Sarajevo – it was stated that State strategy for work on war crimes cases is critical for BiH.

Bakir Dautbasic, presiding o the work group for Justice and Internal affairs, said that during the discussion a lot was said about war crimes cases, which he labeled a “delicate problem”.

„The European Commission has also said the issue of war crimes is delicate, and that more work needs to be done on the State strategy for work on war crimes cases”, added Dautbasic

Pierre Mirel, the director of the European Commission General Direction, noted that the need to reduce the number of backlog cases was highlighted during the two-day discussion as well as the need to work more on war crimes cases.

The participants were not able to revel the date of the next meeting of the Structural dialogue on Justice at the press conference.
