During the hearing, the defence for both Vukovic and Tomic, requested to call three new witnesses, among which is Franc Kos, who is currently on trial before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for crimes in Srebrenica, which the Appeals chamber accepted.
According to the defense, these persons can be regarded as eyewitnesses, as they all have present in different locations at different times together with the indictees during the war.
The Appeals chamber granted this request and stated that all three would be summoned to appear before the trial chamber during the next hearing.
Furthermore, the Defence requested the admittance of the factual findings of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in the completed case against Ljubomir Borovcanin.
The trial chamber told the parties, that a decision on whether to admit the findings of ICTY in the case against Ljubomir Borovcanin, who was sentenced to 17 years in prison in June 2010, will be presented in writing at a later stage.
The indictees Radomir Vukovic and Zoran Tomic are accused of having participated in the killings in Kravica Agricultural Centre in Bratunac.
They are accused, as members of Republika Srpska army, of having captured and killed more than 1,000 men with the aim of exterminating non-Serbs from Srebrenica. In a first instance verdict by the court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they were both sentenced to 31 years in prison.
The next hearing is set to take place on November 16, where the Appeals chamber intends to finish the examination of all three witnesses.
