Presenting her closing statement, the Prosecutor touched upon the statements given by expert witnesses, the psychiatrist Alma Bravo-Mehmedbasic and psychologist Senadin Fadilpasic, who presented their findings and opinion about an injured party on April 12 this year.

“The expert witnesses focused on the war torture. They determined that the injured party had not had any mental problems prior to this event and that she experienced stress, which led to the development of post-traumatic PTSD,” Smailagic said, adding that the expert witnesses determined that the injured
party demonstrated symptoms of depression and anxiety.

The Prosecutor said that the injured party first spoke about the rape as late as in 2009, adding that she reported the case to police afterwards.

“She was afraid of how her family and other people would react if they found out what she had been through. Her dignity has been violated,” Smailagic said.

The trial is due to continue on August 18, when indictee Bogdanovic and his Defence will present their closing statements.
