As per a decision rendered by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivanovic is not allowed to leave his place of residence. He has to remain in home detention, and his presence will be verified by “members of the competent police station” once a day.

The indictee’s travel and personal identification documents have been confiscated. He is banned from talking to persons who are in any way involved in the court process against him, except to his defence attorney.

In addition, he is banned from attending social gatherings or visiting “the broader area of Srebrenica municipality”.

Zeljko ‘Arkan’ Ivanovic is charged, as a member of the Second Special Police Squad with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP RS, with having participated in the capture and murder of more than 1,000 Srebrenica residents in Kravica Agricultural Cooperative on July 13, 1995.

The State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA, arrested Ivanovic in Mokro, Pale municipality, on March 4, 2009, three years after an international warrant against him had been issued.

His trial began in late August 2009. The Defence is currently presenting its evidence at the trial.
