The Court ordered prohibiting measures against Hodzic, who has been held in custody since September last year, including confiscation of travel documents, a ban on leaving his place of residence and a ban on contacting potential witnesses.

At the hearing held on January 15 this year, a team of court experts, consisting of doctors Marija Kaucic, Zorica Lazarevic and Abdulah Kucukalic, expressed their opinion on whether Hodzic needed special medical treatment in a psychiatric institution in order for the Court to decide whether to transfer the suspect from the Detention Unit to a psychiatric clinic.

The public was excluded from this hearing. No reason for this exclusion was given.

The State Prosecution suspects that Hodzic, Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin and Senad Hakalovic, former members of the “Zulfikar” Special Purposes Squad of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, and the 45th Mountain Brigade of the ABiH, called “Neretvica”, attacked Trusina village on April 16, 1993. During the attack 19 civilians and three members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, were killed.

Due to a suspicion that they participated in the same crime, Nihad Bojadzic, former Deputy Commander of the “Zulfikar” Special Purposes Squad with the Main Headquarters of the ABiH, and Jusuf Hadzajlija, former Assistant Commander for Security with the “Neretvica” 45th Mountain Brigade of the ABiH, were arrested last year.

Media in Bosnia and Herzegovina have reported that Rasema Handanovic and Edin Dzeko have been arrested in the US on suspicion that they participated in the attack on Trusina.
