Boskovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, has been charged with murdering a civilian minor in July 1995. The prosecution claims the murder occurred while Serb soldiers were killing Bosniak civilians at the Red Dam in Zvornik after the fall of Srebrenica. Boskovic allegedly told the victim, a Bosniak boy, that he was free to leave. He then shot him with an automatic weapon.

In his closing statement, prosecutor Predrag Tomic said prosecution witnesses had confirmed that Boskovic had killed a male minor following the fall of Srebrenica.

According to Tomic, witness Milorad Kucalovic said he saw a soldier kill a boy, while a protected witness known as SB1 said he overheard Boskovic say he killed someone because they tried to flee.

Tomic claimed Boskovic didn’t demonstrate any feelings of regrets for the crime he committed, and proposed that the court hand down a guilty verdict.

In his closing statement, defense attorney Petko Pavlovic said the prosecution’s evidence was insufficient grounds for sentencing his client..

“The prosecution hasn’t proven that Boskovic was on the Red Dam at all or that he was a member of the Bosnian Serb Army,” Pavlovic said, calling on the court to acquit his client.

The Boskovic trial began in January this year.
