Episode 88: The Srebrenica Massacres that Went Unpunished

Despite the fact that Srebrenica was named a ‘safe area’ in 1993, two years later mass massacres were allowed to take place. The killings of over 7.000 men and boys constituted genocide, according to domestic and international verdicts. For some massacres, however, no perpetrators were ever charged.
No one has yet been indicted for taking part in the shootings in Orahovac, the valley of Cerska, on the banks of the Jadar River, in Luke, near the village of Tisca, and in Snagovo near Zvornik after the fall of Srebrenica, as well as in Bisina near Sekovici.
Bosniaks who survived the massacres by fleeing to Tuzla through the woods saw these massacres, but the families of the victims are still waiting for justice.
