Bosnia Arrests Third Ex-Soldier for Sarajevo War Rape

Elvir Muminovic was the third former Bosnian Army soldier to be arrested for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting an under-age Serb girl in the Sarajevo area in 1993.

The Bosnian state prosecution announced on Thursday that Elvir Muminovic was arrested on suspicion of raping and sexually assaulting the Serb girl during the war in 1993.

Two other former Bosnian Army soldiers, Samir Kesmer and Mirsad Menzilovic, were arrested in the Sarajevo area on Wednesday on suspicion that they committed the same crimes.

They are accused of committing multiple sexual assaults and raped the under-age Serb girl who was living in a part of Sarajevo which was under the control of the Bosnian Army.

The latest suspect will be questioned by prosecutors, who will then decide how to progress with the case.
