The state prosecutor’s office on Friday issued an indictment against Babic accusing him of committing war crimes against the civilian population in the municipality of Glamoc in August 1992.

According to the prosecutor’s office, he participated in murder, inflicting physical and psychological suffering, and looting and destroying the property of non-Serb civilians in Glamoc.

According to the indictment, Babic arrived at a house in Glamoc where there were four Bosniak civilians, including one child, with the intention to kill them.

He pointed an automatic rifle through the window and opened fire, killing an elderly woman, the prosecutor’s office said.

On the road between the villages of Kamen and Jakir, Babic, together with other Bosnian Serb Army troops, stopped an elderly Bosniak woman who they physically abused, and who subsequently died of her injuries.

According to the prosecutor’s office, Babic and two other Bosnian Serb soldiers also went to a Bosniak civilian’s house in Jakir, where they found his young son and physically and mentally abused him while the accused questioned him and asked him for money, which the boy gave to the soldiers.

The indictment was forwarded to the Bosnian state court for confirmation.
