The court confirmed the verdict handed down by the district court of Eastern Sarajevo in April 2015, and rejected the appeals of the defense and prosecution.

According to the verdict, Krsmanovic was found guilty of stabbing a protected witness nine times in a car in a parking lot in Novo Gorazde.

“The protected witness was travelling with his mother to prayer and they stopped on the way to take Krsmanovic with them. At one point while parked in the parking lot Krsmanovic attacked the witness and stabbed him,” the verdict reads.

The witness was sent to the Gorazde hospital and survived despite serious injuries.

The protected witness gave testimony at the Bosnian state court against Dragan Sekaric, a former Bosnian Serb Army soldier. Sekaric was sentenced to 14 years in prison in February 2015 for war crimes in Gorazde.

Sekaric was also charged with participating in an attack on Kokino Selo near Gorazde, robbing and abusing Dzemal Zukic and his son, and abusing a man in the Uzamnica camp, but was acquitted of these allegations.
