The Bosnian state prosecution has charged Komad, a former member of the 7158 military unit of the Bosnian Serb Army, with the murder of a Bosniak civilian in the village of Kosovo Polje in Visegrad.

Komad allegedly went to a village inhabited by Bosniaks who’d left their homes for security reasons and had fled across the Drina River.

“When he noticed a person who was hiding in his yard, the defendant ran onto his property and yelled ‘Stop.’ Fearing for his life, the person tried to run away. The defendant then fired a burst of gunfire from an automatic weapon and killed him,” a state prosecution announcement reads.

Komad is defending himself while at liberty. He currently resides in Visegrad. The indictment was confirmed on August 31.
