Lejla Cengic, the institute’s spokesperson told BIRN the remains of several individuals have been found. Cengic said that the bones were mixed together, and assumed they belonged to victims from the conflict of the early 90’s.
“The final confirmation will be made by DNA analysis. The remains will be transferred to the memorial center in Tuzla for identification,” Cengic said.
The exhumation of the mass grave will continue over the next several days.
