At today’s hearing of the Branislav Ninkovic trial, the trial chamber accepted a proposal by the defense to examine the defendant after all material evidence had been presented.

Defense attorney Branko Ristic presented material evidence dating from the Bosnian war before the district court in Doboj.

He presented decisions by the basic court in Doboj, official letters from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a decision issued by the district prison, documents issued by the district prosecution in Banja Luka, and documents issued by the military prosecution from Bijeljina.

No details about the content of these documents were provided.

Ninkovic has been charged with participating in the torture and abuse of detained non-Serb civilians on the premises of the Doboj prison from May 1992 to March 1993.

The trial will continue on April 14.
