Asef Besic said he lived with his spouse Zibija and their six year old child.
In the winter of 1992, Predrag Djurovic came to our door with my father, who lived nearby. He took Zibija and pushed my father, who was ill, into the snow, Besic said.
Besic said he took their child to his mother-in-law and went to get help and find his wife.
I found her at Ferida’s house, torn, lost…She later told me that Djurovic put a bomb in her mouth and raped her in an abandoned building next to ours, Besic said.
Besic said Djurovic, who he knew well, came to his house in uniform and with a rifle, knife, bomb, and bent sword.
Besic said his wife is still suffering because of what she lived through in 1992. He said several days prior to the rape of his wife, Djurovic abducted his sister-in-law and raped her as well.
According to the indictment, Djurovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, raped a Bosniak woman in 1992 in an abandoned building in the Sarajevo settlement of Vraca. He threatened to kill her and her child if she resisted.
The trial continues on April 16.
