Popovic was ordered into home detention instead. He will be visited by the police twice a week to ensure that he complies with his detention order. The court also banned Popovic from travelling.

The Popovic trial began in June 2014. He’s been held in custody since. At this point in the trial, the examination of an additional defense witness is underway.

Popovic, a former guard at the Uzamnica detention camp, has been charged with participating in the abuse, assault, torture, and sexual abuse of detainees in 1992.
