The Basic Court of the District confirmed the indictment.
The Prosecution charges Zivkovic, a former policeman with the Public Safety Station in Brcko, with having treated two Bosniak civilians in an inhumane manner, having caused the severe suffering of those people, and having physically and mentally abused them, acting in collaboration with other people.
“He is charged with having escorted one civilian to Luka detention camp after the civilian had refused his order to christen himself Aleksandar. He then hit him with a baton and kicked him in that detention camp on several occasions,” the indictment alleges.
It further alleges that Zivkovic physically mistreated a fellow citizen in front of his house, whom he took to the Public Safety Station and then to Luka detention camp, where he continued abusing him.
Prohibiting measures were ordered against Zivkovic, considering the fact that he has the citizenship of another country.
His travel documents have been confiscated. Also, he is banned from using his personal identification card for crossing the state border and leaving his place of residence. Besides that, he is obliged to report to police occasionally.
The Brcko District Prosecution says that the indictment against Zivkovic is the last one arising from cases labelled “A”, for which, according to The Hague Tribunal’s estimates, there was sufficient evidence for processing them before local judicial bodies.
