Zaim Softic, former member of “Zulfikar” Unit with the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, said that Bojadzic went to Igman from Donja Jablanica, where the Unit’s Base was situated at the time. As he said, the witness saw the indictee again in mid-August 1993, when he returned to Dreznica, near Jablanica.

Bojadzic, former Deputy Commander of “Zulfikar” Unit, is charged with having raped a Croat female detainee in July 1993 and beat captured members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, in “The Battle of Neretva” Museum in Jablanica.

Second Defence witness Semso Guhdija said that he saw Bojadzic on Igman in July 1993 and in Sarajevo seven or eight days later. He mentioned that Commander Ramiz Delalic ordered him to drive the indictee around Sarajevo.

“He stayed there for five or six days,” the witness said.

As he said, on the last day of his visit Bojadzic went somewhere with Delalic. After that they were informed that some shooting happened in the vicinity of the Presidency of BiH. As he said, Delalic and a commander of another unit shot at each other. The witness said that, in the evening hours on that day Bojadzic left Sarajevo.

At an earlier hearing the Defence presented a Sarajevo police report about the incident, made on August 1, 1993.

Witness Guhdija said that he went to Herzegovina, along with his Unit, in September and that he saw Bojadzic in front of the “Zulfikar” Unit’s Command in Donja Jablanica. “I nearly failed to recognise him, as he had grown beard,” the witness said.

The State Prosecution witnesses, who claimed to have been mistreated by Bojadzic in that period of time, said, testifying at this trial previously, that they did not notice any specific features on his face.

Third Defence witness Erdin Arnautovic said that Bojadzic was not present when his Commander Ramiz Delalic wounded a Croat detainee on his leg in the “Zulfikar” Unit’s Base in Donja Jablanica in September 1993. According to the charges, Bojadzic wounded a Croat prisoner on his foot.

The trial is due to continue on November 6.
