The Prosecution of BiH charges Zelenika, former member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, with having treated Bosniak civilians in the Mostar area in an inhumane manner in the period from November 1993 to June 1994.
He appeared before the Court of BiH on September 9 this year and pleaded not guilty of these crimes.
The Prosecution initially filed an indictment against Zelenika in July this year, but the State Court rejected it, saying that the evidence attached with the indictment did not imply the existence of a grounded suspicion that Zelenika committed the crime described in the indictment. After that the State Prosecution filed a new indictment, which was confirmed by the Court.
Zelenika is currently on trial, in a separate case before the Court of BiH, along with Srecko Herceg, Edib Buljubasic, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic, for crimes committed in Dretelj detention camp, near Capljina, in 1992.
