Trial for Odzak Crimes Begins October 7

The trial of four former members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, who are charged with crimes in Odzak in 1992, is due to begin with the presentation of introductory statements and reading of the indictment on October 7.

At a pre-trial status conference held in the case against Marijan Brnjic, Martin Barukcic, Pavo and Ilija Glavas, it was said that the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, would examine ten witnesses and also present and include, in the case file, 18 pieces of material evidence during the presentation of its evidence.
 
Brnjic, Barukcic, Pavo and Ilija Glavas, former members of the 102nd Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, in Odzak, are charged with having brought victims from various locations to houses and other facilities in the Odzak area, where they raped, beat, abused and humiliated them.
 
The indictment in this case was confirmed in late July this year.
