At the trial of Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are charged with genocide in Srebrenica, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, includes, in the case file, Momir Nikolic’s testimony before The Hague Tribunal.

Prosecutor Predrag Tomic said that, during his testimony from 2003 Nikolic, former Assistant Commander for Security and Intelligence Affairs with the Bratunac Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, spoke in detail about the background of the genocidal plan in Srebrenica in July 1995.

Stanisic and Milosevic are on trial for the murder of about 1,000 Srebrenica residents committed on a dam, near Petkovci, in mid-July 1995.

According to the charges, Stanisic was Commander of the Sixth Battalion of Zvornik Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, seated in Petkovci, while Milosevic was his Deputy.

The transcript of Nikolic’s testimony was included in the case file, after the Prosecutor and Defence attorneys agreed that there was no need to read it in the courtroom.

In 2006 Nikolic was sentenced to 20 years in prison for crimes in Srebrenica after having admitted guilt.

The trial is due to continue on September 24.
