Trial for Murders in Trnopolje Begins

According to the charges, on June 9, 1992 Nisevic and Beric, who were accompanied by other members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, took Suad Sivac and Sulejman Garibovic from a house in Trnopolje, near Prijedor, and killed them in a manner that has still not been determined.
The bodies of Sivac and Garibovic have still not been found.
District Prosecutor Igor Cimesa said, presenting his introductory statement, that the Prosecution had collected sufficient evidence and that it would prove the indictees’ guilt.
The trial is due to continue on October 17, when the first Prosecution witnesses will be examined.
