Vlacic, former member of military police with the Bircanska Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, is charged with murders and inhumane treatment of detainees, who were held in “Lovac” building.

According to the charges, Vlacic took three detained civilians from prisoner cells and beat the victims up until they died.

The indictment adds that after this incident, Vlacic ordered a detainee to carry their bodies to cells and threatened him by saying that he must not tell anyone what had happened.

The Prosecution also charges Vlacic with having beaten and tortured one detainee.

The Court of BiH confirmed the indictment on July 24.

At the hearing held today the Prosecution of BiH requested an extension of custody for Vlacic. The Court will render a decision at a later stage.

Vlacic has been held in custody since his arrest in June.
