Trial Chamber Chairwoman Olga Pantic said that Zec was acquitted of the charges that he killed Slavo Vasiljevic in June 1992 due to a lack of evidence.
“After having reviewed all presented pieces of evidence and witnesses’ statements, the Chamber considers that the Prosecution has not proved the allegations contained in the indictment,” Pantic said.
Zec was acquitted of the charges that he killed Slavo Vasiljevic from an automatic gun at the doorstep of his house in Staza village, near Kotor-Varos in the evening hours on June 19, 1992.
The parties have the right to appeal this verdict with the Supreme Court of Republika Srpska.
