At the status conference before the start of the trial, prosecutor Munib Halilovic said that during the evidence hearing he would call 24 witnesses and one expert, as well as present material evidence.

“Our evaluation is that we will hear three witnesses per hearing, although this is not clear, since we cannot plan the cross examination. If this is the case, than we would need eight hearings for the witnesses and one hearing for the expert”, said Halilovic.

Both Bjelica’s and Tripkovic, former Bosnian Serb army members are charged with killing and torturing Bosniak civilians detained in the Miladin Radojevic school in Kalinovik in August 1992.

Zoran Bjelica’s Defence said it would call around 15 witnesses, while the other two defence teams did not give their evidence plan.

The Bosnian State court sentenced Tripkovic in July 2011 to eight years in prison for rape and murder in Foca in 1992.

Both Bjelica’s are defending themselves from liberty.
