Trial Chamber Chairwoman Minka Kreho announced that, due to the fact that judge Ljubomir Kitic had to “undergo medical treatment”, he would be replaced by Stanisa Gluhajic.

“According to a decision rendered by the State Court’s President, Stanisa Gluhajic became involved in this case as of last week. If you agree, I propose not to invite the witnesses, who have already been examined, to testify again,” Kreho said.

The Prosecution of BiH and Defence of the eight indictees said that they had no objection to the new composition of the Chamber and that they agreed not to present the evidence, which had already been presented, again.

Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember are on trial for having committed crimes in “Silos” detention camp, “Krupa” military barracks and “9. maj” school building.

According to the State Prosecution’s charges, at that time Djelilovic was President of the Municipal Assembly, Crisis Committee and wartime Presidency of Hadzici municipality, Fadil Covic was Chief of the Public Safety Station in Hadzici and member of the Crisis Committee, while Sabic was Commander of the Police Station in Pazaric.

The Prosecution alleges that Kazic was Commander of the 9th Mountain Brigade of the Army of BiH, Hujic was Manager and Deputy Manager of “Silos” detention camp, just like Halid Covic.

The indictment further alleges that Mesanovic was one of the Deputy Managers in “Silos” and Manager of a detention camp in “Krupa” military barracks warehouse, while Kalember was a guard in “Silos”.

They are charged with having participated, in the period from May 1992 to January 1996, in a joint criminal enterprise, within which they allegedly committed crimes against civilians and prisoners of war, who were held in several buildings in the Hadzici area.

The trial began in April 2012. About 60 State Prosecution witnesses have been examined so far.

Indictee Kazic failed to appear at this status conference. His Defence said that a misunderstanding had happened. All indictees are defending themselves while at liberty.

The trial is due to continue on March 6.
