The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina included court expert Ramiz Dugalic’s written findings and opinion in the case file, while the Defence of Kovacevic did not have any additional pieces of evidence.

Presiding judge Davorin Jukic said that the Trial Chamber would decide, in two weeks, whether it would present certain pieces of evidence by virtue of office. In case the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decides not to present evidence, the dates for presentation of closing statements will be set at the next hearing, scheduled for March 5.

Zemir Kovacevic, former member of the Interventions Squad with the First Bosanski Brod Brigade, which turned into the 101stBosanski Brod Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, later on, is charged with having committed crimes against Serb civilians in Sijekovac village in March 1992.

The indictment alleges that Kovacevic participated in an attack on Sijekovac village, where, acting in collaboration with others, he took 15 adults and four Serb children, some of whom were killed, from their houses into a yard.

Kovacevic has been held in custody since the end of 2011, when he was extradited from Sweden to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The indictment against him was confirmed in April 2012. His trial began in July 2012.
