Hadzira Dzananovic said that her husband Midhat and their son Meho went to a neighbour’s in Solakovici on that day in order to bring petroleum and that family members and relatives found her husband dead on the road the following day.
“They found him lying in the grass. His body was headless. My son Muharem told me: ‘Mother, father got killed. His head is missing. Meho is gone.’ Muharem and my nephew asked me to give them a blanket, so they could bring him home,” Dzananovic said.
The witness, her two other sons and cousins then went to a neighbour’s summer house, where her son Meho, who was wounded, came.
“Muharem brought him to me. He had an injury on his shoulder blade. His shirt was bloody, so it glued to his body. I took a handkerchief and wrapped him in it,” the witness said.
She said that, when asked about his father, her son Meho said that he “was told that he was wounded and that he would come back home”.
“Drago Cacic, Mican Cacic, Vojo Motika and another man, whom I do not know, were present there,” the witness said, recalling his words.
According to the Eastern Sarajevo District Prosecution’s charges, Dragisa Cacic, Milenko Cacic and Vojo Motika, former members of the Military Post in Rogatica, killed one person and wounded a child in the vicinity of Starcici village on August 8, 1992.
The witness said that Dragisa used to be her husband’s working colleague and that he had visited their house before.
When asked by the Prosecution to identify indictee Vojo Motika, the witness pointed towards one of the attorneys first and then towards indictee Motika, saying that he used to be her neighbour.
The witness identified Milenko Cacic later on, when asked by his Defence attorney if she knew who the man sitting next to him was. She said that “Meho knew him, because he used to play football with his brother.”
Following the examination of the witness, it was agreed that the District Prosecution would inform the Court in writing whether it would revise the indictment or not within the next three days.
In case the Prosecution does not change the indictment, closing statements will be presented on March 10. In case it does, the Defence teams will express their opinion about the revised indictment and say whether they want to present new pieces of evidence.
