“Following the departure of the Uzice Corps, most reserve policemen joined the Army. I used to see Milisavljevic as member of the Special Squad at Bikavac,” said witness Sasa Knezevic, former policeman.

Testifying in defence of Milisavljevic, witness Srpko Baranac said that he was mobilised by military police on May 17, 1992 and that he was then transferred to a unit for special operations with the Visegrad Brigade of VRS.

As he said, indictee Milisavljevic was a member of that Unit as well. Baranac specified that the Uzice Corps left a few days after the establishment of the Visegrad Brigade.

Predrag Milisavljevic and Milos Pantelic, former reserve policemen, are charged with having participated in the murder of several tens of Bosniak civilians near the Paklenik pit, Sokolac municipality, in June 1992. In addition to that, they are charged, along with Ljubomir Tasic, former member of VRS, with having participated in the forced resettlement of civilians from Visegrad.

The witnesses said that the Bosniak population left Visegrad in convoys, which were escorted by civil policemen. Knezevic and Baranac said that they had not heard that Pantelic participated in executions.

The trial is due to continue on February 18.
