“This Prosecution lacks at least five prosecutors. The problem has existed for a long period of time already. It reflects on the situation in the Prosecution. It seems to me that nobody is aware of these problems, but the public rightfully expects our work to be efficient and successful. We have problems with the budget. We are aware that the Canton and the State are in a difficult situation, but this cannot be used as an excuse,” Amidzic said.

She held a meeting with Chief State Prosecutor Goran Salihovic in Bihac. They discussed war-crimes and organized crimes cases, as well as other complex cases, which require joint efforts by the state and entity, as well as cantonal prosecutors’ offices.

“We have an extremely good collaboration with judicial bodies in Serbia and Croatia. It was my pleasure and I was proud to see a letter of praise for the USC Prosecution, which was shown to me by Chief Serbian Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic on two occasions. I am proud, because the collaboration has gone that far,” Salihovic said.

He pointed out that the State must invest in judicial capacities.

“We do not want to be under pressure by having to deal with essential things. That draws our attention away from our work. Pressures are also put by the means of some laws, according to which they would like to select court presidents,” the Chief Prosecutor said.

He announced that many mass graves existed on the territory of that Canton and that the State Prosecution would pay maximum attention to that issue in the upcoming period.

“The executive authorities in this Canton have to turn towards judiciary and provide support to these people, because nobody has the right to play games with victims and manipulate them,” Salihovic points out.
