The former member of the 44th Brigade of ABiH, who testified under the pseudonym G, said that he guarded the outside part of the museum, where Croat civilians and prisoners were held.

According to his testimony, Bojadzic, former Deputy Commander of “Zulfikar” Squad, used to come to the guards’ room, which was in the corridor.

“He used to come by an SUV. It was a Toyota, I think,” the witness said, adding that he was tall and blond.

He said that Bojadzic did not personally bring the members of “Zulfikar” Squad, but he was present. As he said, the indictee handed the soldiers over to guards and told them to detain them, but it did not happen. The men stayed in the guards’ room instead. The witness recalled that, when he came again, Bojadzic yelled at the guards.

“He yelled at us, saying that they should be detained in the basement,” he said.

The witness explained that military policemen, who too guarded the Museum, had the key to the basement premises, where Croat prisoners were held. He said that Bojadzic did not enter the basement premises.

After that Prosecutor Vesna Ilic read a part of his statement given during the investigation, in which he said that he entered the basement in order to take the imprisoned members of “Zulfikar” Squad away. The witness said that it was not true, but he then added that “what I said” was true.

Bojadzic is charged with having beaten, sexually abused and raped Croat prisoners, who were held in the Museum in 1993.

Responding to questions by Defence attorney Vasvija Vidovic, the witness said that he had not heard that the indictee beat anybody in the Museum, but he had heard that he allegedly committed rape. However, he said that he had not heard that any of the guards “pointed to Bojadzic”.

The trial is due to continue on October 17.
