Azijada Mujkic, Defence attorney of the indictee, told the Trial Chamber that her client did not accept to co-operate with her and that he wanted a new Defence attorney.

“I would like his wish to be fulfilled,” Mujkic said.

When asked by Trial Chamber Chairman Zoran Bozic why the indictee had not informed the Court about it before, Subotic said that he was not familiar with “court processes”.

According to the indictment, which was confirmed on June 24, Vehid Subotic, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, is charged with crimes against the civilian population in Zenica in 1993.

The Trial Chamber Chairman explained to Subotic how to select an ex-officio attorney from a list of attorneys and inform the Court about his selection at the beginning of next week.

During the next hearing the status conference will be held and the trial will begin with the reading of the State Prosecution’s indictment.
